                        This is going to be a very special week since we are commemorating the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina on the 29th and it also marks the Labor Day weekend when so many people from all over the country comes to celebrate and participate in the Southern Decadence Festival - Aug. 27 to Sept. 1.
                        
I am looking forward this Tuesday, August 26 to attending the very special dinner that has been prepare by Louisiana Cookin' in honor of five promising Chefs to Watch. The award dinner will take place at the Theatre at Harrah's. The guests will enjoy a cocktail reception starting at 6:30 pm and a five-course dinner paired with complimentary wines at 7:00 pm. This year’s winners are Chefs David Bridges, Bella Fresca, Shreveport, Justin Devillier, La Petite Grocery, New Orleans, Spencer Minch, Emeril’s Delmonico, New Orleans, Jude Tauzin, Catahoula’s, Grand Coteau and  Susan Zemanick, Gautreau’s, New Orleans.

 

                        The event will be emceed by well-known WWL news anchorman Eric Paulsen and will showcase the five

                        The Humane Society of Louisiana, a New Orleans-based  humane organization whose facility was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, has created the first national monument that will pay tribute to the  animals lost during the 2005 storm season and to the people who aided  them. It is estimated that more than 50,000 animals were saved by rescue groups, some of them with only a small staff or a few members. During a ceremony in the chambers of
