Dolly Intensifying - Potential for Cat 2 At Landfall
Dr. Jeff Masters former hurricane hunter and chief meteorologist over at Weather Underground, just weighed in on Dolly over at his blog -- excellent post there by the way. The good doc says it's a good thing ole Dolly doesn't have another 24 hours over water or this one would be a major hurricane. The storm is looking very Cat 2-ish as it approaches the Texas/Mexico coastal borders. Dolly just went through a rapid intensification, and is a very well organized storm with good spiral banding and a nice 20 mile diameter eyewall -winds should rise above 100 mph in the next few hours! Dr. Masters thinks the storm could very well do 100 million dollars in damage. View his blog post here.
